**TRIGGER WARNING for rape, victim blaming**
I hope letters like the one from the woman who regretted her drunken one-night stand so much she was now considering reclassifying it as a rape, spark discussion about the consequences of drinking so much you’re no longer responsible for your behavior. The legal justice system is a poor way to try to address this. Too many young people think binge-drinking is normal behavior. So that means many young women will wonder if they were raped (and will actually be raped), and more men will be charged with this crime. It’s not blaming the victim to emphasize that bad things happen to you when you can’t remember what you did last night.

Emily Yoffe gives out TERRIBLE legal advice on facebook, on top of shaming victims and making excuses for rapists.
Hooray fun!
(via robot-heart-politics)When I was raped, I told a bunch of my friends a different story, the story I was trying to convince myself was what had totally really happened, so that I could just remain in denial about the whole situation…
I told one friend the truth.
Methinks the letter writer here is just a shitty second-tier friend. Much like Prudie is a shitty second-tier advice columnist. Both of them should keep their fucking mouths shut when they don’t know what the hell they’re talking about.
And KUDOS to Prudie for doubling down on the slut-shaming with that Facebook post, jeezy chreezy.
